Just a little cheers from a Kiwi who has benefited from my time in China on so many levels. I've learnt heaps of kung fu, but the growth I've experienced on a personal level can't be described. I think that a year in China should be compulsory for all school leavers - it just open your eyes to human behavior, the natural wonders of the world and gives you a chance to truly reflect yourself when out of the daily grind of the Western workforce.

Just a note to say that I have settled in here and now and everything is going well. The people at the school have been so helpful and made me feel really special. I know you warned me that it might be a bit of a culture shock and to expect the unexpected but this is great. I was picked up at the airport and since then the school has taken care of everything for me. I had a first class a few days ago and the students were amazing, so keen to learn and so concientious - it was a shock! Nothing like the teaching I am used to back home in Australia.

I'm so glad I took your advice to come to China rather than go to Japan. The apartment I am in is much bigger than I imagined and the director has been doing his best to help me settle in as best as possible.
